The historic Rhodes Hotel in the Eastern Cape was established in 1899.
Originally built to provide a comfortable base for frontier explorers and traders, the hotel is famous for its Victorian Restoration and its rich regional memorabilia. The village of Rhodes itself was founded a few years earlier, on September 16, 1891. Today, the region is highly regarded as a tranquil, Victorian-era alpine retreat.
